Al Shahbah:
A large major area in Aleppo composed of two sectors. An old and modern sector. Residents here enjoy quiet, one of the highest standards of living in Aleppo's multi-flat housing, and also congestion free roads which is the only factor affecting Aleppo's appearance but signs of improvements are approaching. Housing here is very large and modern. The balconies are also big which is far better to have available for any house in Syria as it has always been part of the culture to sit in the balcony.
New Al Shahbah:
Being more densely populated than the old sector the housing are more closely packed as there is lack of space to have them organised with wider spaces like the old sector. The buildings are very attractive and like all in Syria they are composed of rocks that are one of the best you can build with as they are very tough and beautiful. The sunlight reflects a fabulous colour off the buildings and this rock type is only commonly found in Syria. The new sector also has improved entrance halls to main buildings which have been made larger and more attractive. They also have good security and only by the residents permission can you even step foot into the entrance. Electronic communicators have been installed for this and the person inside any flat can open the door at the simple push of one button after communicating.
Old Al Shahbah:
The old sector is more sparsely populated and the availability of more empty spaces has been taken advantage of by giving a lot of ground floor storey housing large gardens which are rarer in the new sector and. Also, there is quite a few sites which have new housing being constructed. A view very common in Syria which is experiencing large growth of its' cities. The old sector also has more privacy as buildings are built further away from eachother in some places and therefore people sitting outside on their balconies have less chance of being seen. Here housing is more expensive than the new sector.
Clearly the finest place to live in for anyone that wants a quiet life unlike the central city which is always busy. The very large housing has been a major pull factor as originally Syrians always own more than one property and without fail they would aim to have most of them being either villas or large flats like the ones available here.
